2014

2014 is our biggest and most diverse program to date.  

With close to 200 entries from all over the world we had such an exciting challenge developing a program for this year.  We hope you are pleased with the result and we can’t wait to see as many people at the screenings as possible!

Tuesday 11th November 

Wallis Cinema – Mount Barker  – Click HERE for the full Program.  

Session 1 –  Dedicated to Primary School aged kids with films all rated G.  Films from as far as Spain and UK will feature.  Student juries will also participate in rating the films to establish the coveted “Audience Award”.  We have guests from participating films ready to answer any questions from the Audience

Session 2 – Dedicated to High School aged kids with films rated PG.  Films from as Switzerland and India will feature.  Student juries will also participate in rating the films to establish the coveted “Audience Award”.  We have guests from participating films ready to answer any questions from the Audience and an excerpt which features the AKFF 2014 ambassadors travelling to the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy will also be screened.

Session 3 – Designed for families and students who couldn’t make the day time sessions so it is a mixed program of G and PG rated films. We feature the films made by the Mount Barker Regional Tour and our cultural partner –  ByKids. Click HERE for the full Program.

Wednesday 12th November

Adelaide Studios, 226 Fullarton Road, Glenside – Click HERE for the full Program.  

Session 1 –  Deaf Access program with the acclaimed film Super Sounds Australian Premiere.  This program is also suitable for “non” hearing impaired primary school students. SFX makeup demonstrations available to all audience members.

Session 2 –  Focuses on films for primary school aged kids with entries from Japan and Italy. The audience will participate as the jury rating the films and participating in the SFX makeup demonstrations.  Special Guest young actor talks to the audience about his recent work.

Session 3 –  Films made by high school participants from the DECD New Media Awards Program. There will also be screenings of AKFF programmed films as well as a special guest Actor to talk about his recent work in LA.

Thursday 13th November

This program consists of three Primary School focused sessions with student juries participating to vote for their favourite film.  We have guests from the internationally acclaimed film “Super Sounds”, SFX makeup demonstrations and “Cobs Cam” .

Friday 14th November

Adelaide College of the Arts, Light Square, Adelaide – Click HERE for the full Program.

This program consists of two High School focused sessions with student juries participating to vote for their favourite film.  We have exciting “You Tube” sensations, the Philippou brothers, as guests as well as our AKFF Giffoni Ambassadors.  Guided tours of the video production facilies within the college are part of the program.

Saturday 15th November

Mercury Cinemas, 13 Morphett Street, Adelaide – Click HERE for the full Program.

Session 1 – Kids Camera Action films screened.

Session 2 – Kids Camera Action films screened.   The 2014 Ambassador will make a speech and the golden ticket will be handed to the KCA Ambassador for 2014.

Session 3 – AKFF Awards – Winning Films will be screened as well as a student made documentary from USA courtesy of our cultural partner BYkids in New York. Prizes for the best films in animation, documentary, and live-action will be awarded courtesy of Diamonds Cameras, CDW Studios, and the AKFF to name a few.
