We were thrilled to be invited to the Giffoni Film Festival in 2013, 2014, 2015 and again in 2016. The Giffoni Film Festival is the world’s largest film festival for children.  Chloe Gardner, the AKFF Managing Director, and several Ambassadors from South Australia have been guests of the festival.  The Ambassadors are selected to act as jurors in Giffoni, along with 3000 other young filmmakers and fans from all over the world. They not only represent the AKFF but have been the only jury members from Australia.

It has been an incredible experience for Luke, Sharnie, Sam, Jeff, Eva, Ingrid, and Charlie who, in the past three festivals, have spent 10 days watching films and discussing and critiquing them with other youth delegates from around the globe. As the only representatives from Australia it is not only an invaluable experience but it is also great exposure for South Australia and young filmmakers across Australia.

We are now looking for our 3 jury members for 2016 who will be lucky enough to rub shoulders with some big names in the international film industry and soak up all the sites and sounds of the stunning location of this festival.

This year the festival will be held between 15-24 of July, click here for more details on this exciting opportunity.

The opportunity has been made possible by:

AKFF Ambassador fund – $100 per student each year
Mitcham Council – $200 (2014)
Carlew Youth Arts – $1000 (2013, 2014)
Creative Young Stars Program – $500 (2013)
